About Union Pacific Dining Lodge and town of West Yellowstone
The Union Pacific Dining Lodge was designed by Gilbert Stanley Underwood and was built in 1925. The lodge was constructed to accommodate the growing number of tourists to Yellowstone National Park. Meals were served in the Lodge until 1960, when the Union Pacific Railroad ceased offering passenger service. A few years later the town of West Yellowstone took ownership of the Lodge. Today, it is used for numerous civic events, including Speak for Wolves 2016 July 15-17, 2016!
The town of West Yellowstone is located within minutes of the West entrance to Yellowstone National Park, and less than an hour to Old Faithful.
